Now it's official, 1600 flat on CTS, after an exhausting session of 438 tries and a 13.1 RD. It was so close I just couldn't stop, although I probably should have. The success rate sunk apallingly low of course, down to 103f/438 = 76.5% but well...
The goal for 2006 was to break 1600 by christmas, but there it is, one month early.
CTS: 1600, 77.7%, 68479 tries, session 103f/438 = 76.5%

congrats sir! i have not been to CTS or blogger--but not at all surprised.
i have also been on hiatus from CTS, but instead did a lot of CT-Art3.0 then literally 400+ bullet games in the last week and a half, or 0/4 (start with 0:12, then add 4 seconds). after warmups, now i am moving on to 2/12.
after 25,000 tactics, it's time to implement and practice that chess knowledge.
thanks. I noticed you've been laying low.
I've been thinking about playing some blitz/standard for a long time also, but don't really feel like it. I'm just so terribly bad at faster time controls... but I guess I'll get to it eventually, maybe after I get to 1800 on rhp. well we'll see..
Congrats!
I've never crossed that 1600 barrier on CTS so you can't be all bad :)
I suggest you try and play some standard games on FICS (20+20 or 30+30) to see how much your game has improved from last year. I'd estimate that your strength on FICS is at least 1600, maybe closer to 1700.

see dk, this is what I meant with finnish compliments. "so you can't be all bad" :) -and even that's a stretch for a finn. :)
maybe I'll get to the standard playing eventually, maybe 30 30 or even 45 45... I'm not that sure I can make it to more than 1400-1500's at first, as I have practically no experience on 'faster' games. it's also been a full year since my last std game, so I've managed to build up this ridiculous mental block on starting them. no other way to break it than just dive in, of course, so I don't know what I'm waiting for. maybe I'll play blitz game today to get started. but first I'm gonna eat, then take a nap, then.....
I think I should be awarded a master's title in procrastination.
70,000 can't be all bad. :)
or a 1600 CTS finn > 70,000, etc.
i totally understand the block on standard. in sales, this is called fear of success.
im back daily at CTS.
